Amid the buzz to develop a potential vaccine against the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on September 15 said that three Indian COVID-19 vaccine candidates are in different stages of clinical testing.
"Cadila and Bharat Biotech have completed phase-I trials. Serum Institute has completed phase II-B3 trials, and will start phase-III trial (with 1500 patients at 14 locations) after clearances," stated Professor Dr. Balram Bhargava, Director General, ICMR.
The Indian government today shared that they are in relation with the vaccine manufacturing industry and are trying their best to make available a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine at the earliest.
