Three enforcement officers – Mrigen Sharma, Chitra Kumar Nath and Madhav Neog – have been sent to 7-days custody by the Central Investigating Bureau (CID) on Monday, April 2.
The officers were arrested on Saturday, March 31 for their alleged involvement in coal syndicate. A coal syndicate has been running in the Byrnihat-Khanapara area since a long time now.
Earlier, the main broker Kuldeep Singh was arrested by the Police and political rivalry had been alleged to be the reason behind the syndicate. Nearly half a dozen such brokers operate in the area through which the coal syndicate has been thriving. The police said a hunt is on to nab all the brokers, most of whom have been identified.
