GUWAHATI: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi has asked the 6 communities who will be listed as Scheduled Tribes to unmask the lies of the Bharatiya Janata Party government.

Displaying a paper that he claimed as Rajya Sabha List of Business for 19th January, the KMSS leader said, “Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been spreading this news that the 6 communities have been given Scheduled Tribes status. I hold before you the paper that says Rajya Sabha List of Business and this list does not have anything on the ST status of 6 communities of Assam. There is no mention of this issue being raised in the house. It just means that the 6 communities have been fooled.

“This is just a step to get the 6 communities from protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and to mislead the Assamese Community. This is an election gimmick that the BJP and RSS have planned for the people of Assam. So, at this moment I request all the leaders of the six communities to come out in the streets and raise their voice as no bill will be raised today on the ST status of these 6 communities,” said Akhil Gogoi.
