GUWAHATI: A burglary involving the alleged use of a debilitating spray was reported on Sunday, December 1, in the Srimantapur area of Guwahati.

The thieves reportedly rendered the house’s occupants unconscious before stealing valuables worth approximately ₹3 lakh, including gold, jewellery, and cash.
Talking to the police, the house owner recounted that the burglars broke into the residence while the family was asleep. Utilising the spray to incapacitate them, the intruders ransacked the house and escaped with the loot.
An investigation is currently underway, as law enforcement officials are probing the new modus operandi of using sprays in burglaries.
The incident also parallels with rising concerns over an increase of chain-snatching cases within the city.
