Theatre Workshop concluded at Guwahati Theatre Festival

GUWAHATI: Around 100 students from Sanskriti the Gurukul and IIT-Guwahati participated in the theatre workshop hosted by GPlus Guwahati Theatre Festival and Brahmaputra Foundation and supported by Numaligarh Refinery Limited and North Eastern Council today. The workshop was conducted by popular and veteran actor and director Rakesh Bedi.

The youngsters got an opportunity to learn communication through acting and dramatics focussing on voice and movement techniques with specific learning goals that were demonstrated through the workshop. The artist spoke at length about the nuances of acting, the use of hand gestures, expressions and the importance of timing in theatre. Bedi broke down the word ‘actor’ to A for act, C for concentration, T for timing, O for observation and R for reaction and emphasized on the importance of these skills in the profession of acting.

Actor Rakesh Bedi said, “The students were very welcoming and interactive and showed a keen interest in learning the nuances of theatre and drama.” Sunit Jain, Publisher of GPlus said, “Workshops during festivals are opportunities that the youth must benefit from.
