GUWAHATI: Teachers and guardians gathered in for a protest against the headmistress of Bharalumukh Primary School around 9 AM on November 20.
The protest unfolded in response to a sudden directive related to the formation of a school management committee.
Speaking to GPlus, a senior police official from the Bharalumukh Police Station disclosed that the notice regarding the establishment of the school management committee was issued by headmistress of the school on Saturday, with a request for its immediate formation on Sunday.
The apparent lack of prior notice and the urgency of the decision became the focal points of contention, leading to the organised protest.
The senior police official added, "Teachers contended that the directive was issued on Sunday without adequate advance notice, prompting their objection to the suddenness of the decision."
The immediacy of the call to establish the committee raised concerns among the teaching staff, leading to a collective expression of discontent.
"At least 20 parents of students attending Bharalumukh Primary School joined the demonstration,” the Bharalumukh police official informed GPlus.
