Authorities have suspected the involvement of the banned militant outfit, United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent) [Ulfa (I)].

As per reports, the incident took place in a tea factory. Following the abduction, the local police swiftly arrived to conduct an investigation. Also, a search operation has reportedly been put in place to rescue the abducted individual and apprehend those responsible.

As of now, no ransom call has been reportedly received, but police are actively examining CCTV footage from the factory to identify the culprits and establish a motive behind the kidnapping.

Associated law enforcement agencies are working in tandem to secure the individual’s safe return, while ensuring the community’s safety amid growing concerns of insurgency-related activities at the same time.

Tinsukia has seen similar incidents in the past, and the involvement of Ulfa (I) is suspected due to the group’s history of abductions and extortion in the region.
