Tarun Gogoi accuses Sarbananda Sonowal of coddling in communal politics

GUWAHATI: On April 20, former Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi accused the current Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal of coddling in communal politics and educated that the Congress will enroll an objection against the later with the Election Commission (EC).

Pummeling the CM for his comment on asking voters to swear in the name of Allah, Gogoi stated, "Sonowal requesting that the general population make a vow for the sake of Allah and vote in favor of BJP is an infringement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). We will enroll a grumbling against the Chief Minister with the Election Commission on this issue."

It should be noted that Sonowal on April 16 asked voters in Laharighat under Nowgong Lok Sabha constituency to make a vow for the sake of Allah and vote in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He likewise propelled a rankling assault on Assam Finance Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma and said that Sarma used to gather cash in the name of militants.

Pushing of Bobbeeta Sharma's candidature from Gauhati Lok Sabha situate, Gogoi stated, "BJP's Queen Oja isn't a qualified candidate since she was a member of Zila Parishad. We need a candidate who is fit for speaking for us at the Lok Sabha. She will aimlessly adhere to the guidelines of Narendra Modi."

Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency goes to polls on April 23 alongside Dhubri, Barpeta and Kokrajhar constituencies. The result will be pronounced on May 23.
