GUWAHATI: In a recent announcement on Monday, July 15, the Chief Minister of Assam took to X to notify the public about the syllabus for the Grade III & IV examination under the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) for the year 2023-24. This notification follows No. SLRC-G-IV/ASSAM/ for Analogous Posts-IV/2023-24/01/14, dated October 27, 2023.
The State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-IV Posts has outlined the details regarding the written examinations for various Class-IV posts. There will be two categories of written examinations:
1. For candidates who have studied up to Class VIII.
2. For candidates who have passed HSLC (Class Ten) or an equivalent examination, including those with an ITI pass certificate in trades such as Wireman, Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, or Electronics Mechanic from a Government of Assam-approved institute.
The syllabus for these examinations will align with the Elementary School Pass Level examination of SCERT for the Read up to Class VIII category and the High School Level Certificate Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam for the HSLC category, including the ITI trades mentioned.
Subjects for Both Categories of Written Examinations:
- English
- Social Studies
- Mathematics
- General Knowledge
- Mental Ability and Logical Reasoning
The medium of language for the question papers will be Assamese, Bengali, English, Boro, and Hindi. The examination will consist of 135 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark, to be completed within 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes). Only one answer will be correct for each question, and a negative marking of 0.25 will be applied for each incorrect answer.
