GUWAHATI: The third edition of the Swasthya Seva Utsav is set to take place from December 3 to December 5 across 56 health centers in Kamrup Metropolitan District.

This three-day event, conducted alongside similar programs across Assam, will assess the infrastructure, human resources, and quality of healthcare services in these facilities.
In Kamrup Metro, the evaluation will cover one district hospital, one community health center, two first referral units (FRUs), 47 primary health centers, and five sub-health centers designated as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. An administrative officer and a doctor from Guwahati Medical College will serve as external assessors, visiting the health centers to evaluate their standards. Additionally, a senior administrative official will act as an external evaluator to ensure comprehensive assessments.
The Swasthya Seva Utsav was first launched in April 2023 across Assam, with 49 health centers in Kamrup Metro participating in the initial phase. Of these, nine were graded A, 26 received B, and 14 were graded C. The second phase, held in November 2023, evaluated 51 centers, with 39 receiving A, 11 receiving B, and one receiving C.
Speaking at a press briefing held today in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan emphasised that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the third edition, aimed at benefiting the public. Also present at the press meet were Additional Deputy Commissioner Parijat Bhuyan, Joint Director of Health Services Uday Shankar Medhi, and National Health Mission Kamrup Metro District Program Manager Rajiv Kumar Medhi.
