GUWAHATI: A suspected thief lost his life after jumping from the third floor of a building in Beltola’s Survey area early on Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 6:00 AM when he was spotted allegedly attempting to steal an air-conditioner wire.
Talking to GPlus, an official from Dispur Police station said, "The man, whose identity remains unknown, was seen cutting the AC wire on the terrace of a building at Samanay Path. A resident spotted him and raised an alarm, following which the suspect jumped in an attempt to escape."
The individual sustained critical injuries in the fall and succumbed shortly after. He was taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for official confirmation of his death.
Further investigation is underway.
