GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police made headway in their ongoing “War On Drugs” campaign by arresting two alleged drug peddlers in separate interceptions at Khanapara. The arrests were made by a team from the Basistha Police Station based on intelligence received.

In the first operation, 24-year-old Gautam Das, a resident of Bhangagarh, was apprehended after being found with 7 vials containing 9.33 grams of suspected heroin. In the second interception, Raju Deka of Dispur, also 24, was arrested with 22 vials containing 29.47 grams of suspected heroin.

During the operations, the police also seized two mobile phones and ₹12,370 in cash from the accused's possession. Legal action has been initiated against both the suspects, and further investigations are underway.
