According to an official from the Jalukbari Police Outpost, the incident occurred when a vehicle was being towed and the strap securing it snapped unexpectedly. This caused chaos, damaging four to five vehicles and injuring two individuals, who were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
Residents have long raised alarms over the junction’s unsafe conditions, citing the lack of adequate traffic signage and enforcement as significant contributors to the recurring accidents. Despite repeated incidents, including several unreported ones, no substantial measures have been taken to address the issues at this stretch of the highway.
“The authorities need to act immediately before more lives are put at risk. This area has become a nightmare for commuters,” said Kalyan Sharma, a local resident.
With mounting pressure from the public, questions about road safety and traffic management remain unanswered, leaving the Radisson Blu junction a perilous spot for unsuspecting drivers.
