Surgical Strike 2.0: 200-300 Estimated Casualties Reported

GUWAHATI: Indian Air Force fighter jets have struck a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp across the Line of Control in Balakote, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday at around 3:30 AM. 

The IAF had used Mirage-2000 jets with laser-guided bombs that caused an estimated casualty of 200-300, according to an article by Hindustan Times. These laser-guided bombs are built with Israeli technology and were first used in Kargil. 

At around 10:36 AM today, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi held a top security meet at his official residence to review the situation. Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman and National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval were among those present at the Cabinet Committee of Security (CCS) meeting. 

According to recent reports, the following reports have just come in: 

ANI has reported that the airstrikes in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region were based on locations provided by on ground intelligence sources.
