Super Cyclone ‘AMPHAN’: Assam sees Light to Moderate Rainfall

GUWAHATI: The super cyclonic storm AMPHAN moved north-northeastwards with a speed of 27 kmph during the past 6 hours, further weakening into a cyclonic storm.

The storm moved over Bangladesh near north-northeast of Kolkata, 150 km south of Dhubri and 110 km south-southeast of Rangpur (Bangladesh).

It is very likely to continue to move north-northeastward and weaken further into a Deep Depression during the next 3 hours and into a Depression during the subsequent 6 hours.

Heavy rainfall Warning: Assam and Meghalaya

Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very rainfall at isolated places is very likely over the western districts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya on May 21.

Wind Warning:

Squally wind, speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph very likely over Meghalaya and West Assam during next 12 hours.
