GUWAHATI: Assam State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the status of Guwahati as "Green Zone" will remain the same; any decision for change will be taken by Government of India (GOI).

Further, the minister stated that compared to the total population of Guwahati only four positive cases have been found.

Earlier, a lot of confusion amongst Guwahatians was created on whether the city's zone designation has changed to "Orange Zone".

As per the MHA, zones are classified as follows:

Red Zone: Areas with substantial numbers of positive cases and high infection rates fall under red zone where there will be complete restriction.

Orange Zone signifies: The areas with a limited number of cases in the past and with no surge in positive cases recently would be included under the orange zone.

Green Zone: The districts with no coronavirus positive cases would fall under the green zone.
