State govt rolls out scheme for civil service aspirants

The Assam Government is planning to make IAS aspirants ready for any challenges. The govt has given its nod to a mega project in 50 colleges across Assam that will train candidates for UPSC and APSC exams. Students from every nook and corner of the state can avail the facilities.

Member secretary of the State Level Advisory Committee for Student and Youth Welfare Lakhya Konwar said the state government will show the way to the civil service aspirants who can't board a train to Delhi and spend lakhs on IAS coaching institutes. "It's not easy for many civil service aspirants to go to Delhi to pursue their dreams at expensive coaching institutes. So we have planned this mega project to help all those aspirants, who have the quality to shine at the all India level competitive exams but don't have access to the resources," said Konwar.

The project will start from October this year. Apart from reserving 70% seats for applicants, 30% seats in the college coaching classes will be reserved for the undergraduate students studying in final year. The initiative has been taken up because “Our students have the talent but lack the appropriate training for accomplishing the task”, said Konwar.
