GUWAHATI: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has made it to the headlines again, this time for having volunteered to help a family who had to sell their cow to buy a smartphone for their child to attend online classes.

The actor shared a picture of the news clipping from a newspaper and tweeted, “Let’s get this guy’s cows back. Can someone send his details please.”

A poor family in Himachal Pradesh decided to sell one of their cows for a sum of Rs 6,000 so their child could stay connected to studies.

The family that resides in a cowshed at Gummer village in Jwalamukhi Tehsil of Kangra district of Himachal have a daughter Anu and son Vansh who are both school students in Class IV and II respectively.

The man who sold his cow, Kuldeep Kumar, sells milk to earn a living and his wife is a daily-wage earner.

Both had approached banks and private lenders for loans to buy a smartphone.

Meanwhile, students across the country are agitating against online exams.

In Assam, students have opposed UGCs decision to conduct exams for students pursuing higher education as the situation of the state is grim with floods and continuously increasing COVID-19 cases.
