GUWAHATI: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) after a long meeting named Sonia Gandhi as the interim Congress president on August 10.
It is to be mentioned that during the meeting a number of leaders, including state chiefs and MPs, backed Rahul Gandhi to continue in the post despite his refusal.
The decision was announced after Rahul Gandhi once again refused to take back his resignation from the post of the party head.
