GUWAHATI: Despite every effort of the Excise Department to seize all illegal liquor in Assam, the smuggling of such liquor has constantly been on the rise.

On 19th November, the Dhemaji and Jonai Excise staff carried out an immediate raid at Sili under Dhemaji Excise circle and Silapathar Police Station.
In course of the raid following articles were seized:
1. IMFL = 101 bottles for sale in Arunachal Pradesh.
2. Beer = 36 bottles for sale in Arunachal Pradesh.
3. ID liquor = 15 litres
4. FW =80 litres.
5. Case =3nos (abd)
Notably, the overall revenue collection has been more than Rs 1000 crore till November of this financial year.
