Seven Held For Bike-Lifting In Guwahati; Nine Stolen Vehicles Recovered

 

GUWAHATI: Fatasil Ambari Police on Sunday, April 13, busted a bike-lifting gang that had been operating across Guwahati and nearby areas. Acting on intelligence inputs, the police arrested seven individuals and recovered nine stolen two-wheelers during the operation.

The case began with an investigation into the theft of a scooty. Two repeat offenders were first caught, which helped police trace the rest of the gang. Four of the main accused — Dipmoni Bora (19) and Ganesh Mahato (19) from Garchuk, and Avinash Boro (19) and Sourabh Deka (19) from Fatasil Ambari. 

Police also arrested three people who had bought the stolen vehicles: Ebadul Haque (21) and Rahul Bhorali (24) from Hajo, and Sanjib Deka (19) from Kamalpur.
The stolen vehicles recovered include- 

- 1 Hero Xoom Scooty
- 5 Yamaha N Torq
- 1 Pulsar 220
- 1 Royal Enfield Hunter
- 1 Honda Dio

Legal proceedings have begun, and further investigation is underway.
