GUWAHATI: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and the sitting MP from the Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency R P Sharma is likely to join All India Trinamool Congress (TMC).

According to reports, Sharma will join the party on May 25 at a formal function to be held in Assam. TMC observer Firhad Haki is expected to attend the function.

It should be mentioned that earlier this year, Sarmah gave a hint to join other political parties after resigning from BJP over denial of ticket.
