GUWAHATI: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Guwahati, section 144 has been imposed in the city.
Authorities informed that arrests will be made if effigies are burnt in the city. Further, the city police are on high alert to keep an eye to prevent any untoward incident.
The Director General of Police, Kuladhar Saikia, has requested all organisations to maintain peace. He added that the police will take lawful action against those violating the order.
