GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet has given the green light to the merger of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Assam (AHSEC) during its recent cabinet meeting held on November 16.
The amalgamation will result in the formation of the 'Assam State School Education Board' (ASSEB), a unified entity tasked with the development, regulation, and supervision of the standards and quality of school education across the state.
By consolidating the functions of SEBA and AHSEC under the umbrella of ASSEB, the Assam Cabinet has aimed to enhance the efficiency of governance in the education sector and promote a more integrated approach to educational policies and practices.
The newly constituted Assam State School Education Board will play a pivotal role in setting and maintaining high standards for school education. This includes overseeing curriculum development, examination procedures, and the overall quality of education provided to students in both secondary and higher secondary levels.
