A scrap dealer was arrested on Saturday, February 8, after a police raid at a dump yard on ASEB Road led to the recovery of multiple stolen items.

The operation was carried out by a team from Bhangagarh Police Station, resulting in the arrest of one 46-year-old Momir Ali, a resident of Hajo.
During the raid, the police recovered various stolen materials, including two AC motors, five kilograms of AC copper pipes, angle wrenches, and an iron culvert weighing 100 kilograms.
Additionally, two batteries, an AC cover, aluminium bars, an electricity meter box, and electrical wires were seized from the premises.
Investigations are underway to determine the source of the materials and whether Ali was part of a larger theft network.
This arrest is the latest of Assam Police’s operations to curb theft and the illegal trade of stolen goods throughout the past few months.
