GUWAHATI: The Government of Assam’s “12 Days of Development” programme will take place today, December 11, with a series of distribution events at Sarusajai Stadium Complex in Guwahati and Jorhat Stadium in Jorhat. The program will kick off with the distribution of scooties under the Banikanta Kakati Merit Award, cash prizes under the Anundoram Borooah Award, and bicycles through the Chief Minister’s Special Scheme.

The event at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati will begin at 11 AM, with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attending as the chief guest and Education Minister Ranoj Pegu as the Guest of Honour. Simultaneously, the event in Jorhat will also begin at 11 AM, with Finance Minister Ajanta Neog as the chief guest.
Under the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Award, a total of 7,860 scooties will be distributed to meritorious students in the following districts:
1. Kamrup District: 2,735
2. Kamrup (Metro) District: 2,907
3. Jorhat District: 2,218
In addition, Under the Chief Minister’s Special Scheme, a total of 32,771 bicycles will be distributed to to Class 9 students in the following districts:
1. Kamrup District: 16,442
2. Kamrup (Metro) District: 7,823
3. Jorhat District: 8,506
As part of the Anundoram Borooah Award, students scoring 75% and above in the HSLC examination will receive cash prizes through DBT. A total of 4,595 students will receive the cash prize in the following districts:
1. Kamrup District: 1,830
2. Kamrup (Metro) District: 1,612
3. Jorhat District: 1,153
