The Supreme Court of India on Thursday rejected the bail petition of two APSC Scam accused officials, viz, Sudipta Goswami Bhattacharya and Geetali Doley. The Apex Court has upheld the verdict of the Gauhati High Court in this regard.
Having been denied bail petition by Gauhati High Court earlier twice, the APSC officers who were accused of obtaining their jobs by paying bribes, knocked the doors of Supreme Court to attain bail.
The case was presented at Supreme Court by standing council Debajit Borkataki on behalf of the Govt of Asam.
The bench holding the verdict of Gauhati High Court comprised of Justice N. V Raman and Justice Abdul Nazir.
The bench had ordered Assam Police to submit the charge sheet in connection with the APSC Scam, within a period of 2 months.
