A bench comprising Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Ahsanuddin Amanullah was hearing a plea by the State of Jharkhand, challenging the bail granted by the High Court to a Nigerian national in a cyber fraud case.

During the proceedings, it was revealed that the accused had jumped bail and was now untraceable. Advocate Kanu Agarwal, representing the Union Government, informed the bench that the matter was under review by the Centre.

The bench observed that similar incidents had previously come before the Court. "This is not a lone incident, and such cases are not uncommon. A procedure must be laid down, if not already in place, to address this issue and establish the steps to be followed," the bench remarked.

The Court granted the Union Government two weeks to submit details of any existing procedures or propose measures to handle such situations effectively.
