A sand laden dumper bearing registration number AS-01-DD-3666 met with a major accident at Garchuk on Monday late night.
According to sources, the accident occurred after an identified four wheeler hit the dumper from behind, leading the dumper to lose control and hit the divider on the highway.
The driver of the dumper who has been identified as Kaatiram Kachari (33) of Palashbari, was severly injured in the accident.

According to eye witnesses, the driver was traped inside the dumper for a long time.
With the help of Garchuk Police, the victim was later taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
