Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this on Saturday, February 22, stating that several projects from these investment proposals are currently in various stages of implementation.

“Earlier, some years ago, Assam’s atmosphere was not fit for industrialisation,” he said. “But, we are seeing changes in the situation.

Speaking at the inauguration of a new bottling plant near Guwahati, Sarma highlighted the changing industrial landscape of Assam. The new plant spans over 6 lakh sq ft, making it one of the largest beverage manufacturing units in the Northeast.

With an initial production capacity of over 10 crore litre for carbonated soft drinks (CSD) and nearly 18 crore litre for packaged drinking water, the facility is expected to generate 300 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs. "Our youth had to move outside of Assam earlier to seek employment,” he remarked. “Now, with the advent of industrialisation, they can return home.”
