₹1,92,000 In Counterfeit Currency Seized At Betkuchi

 

GUWAHATI: The Special Task Force (STF), Assam apprehended a person after finding a huge stash of counterfeit currency in his possession the Betkuchi area of Guwahati, on March 18.

Based on reliable input, a raid was conducted at the Rajib Gandhi Path, Near Maniram Dewan Trade Center under the Gorchuk Police Station by the STF, which led to the recovery of 392 Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) amounting to ₹1,92,000 of ₹500 denomination.

The raid also led to the seizure of one mobile phone, along with cash amounting to ₹677.

The individual in possession of the FICN has been identified as Md. Gulzar, aged 26, from Lal Ganesh. 

The individual has been taken into custody and further formalities are being undertaken. More details are awaited.
