Guwahati’s Basistha Police Nab 4 In Burglary Case

 

GUWAHATI: In a swift operation, police personnel from Basistha Police Station apprehended four burglars within 12 hours of a reported theft at a mobile shop in Beltola. The operation led to the recovery of four stolen mobile handsets and a ceiling fan without blades.

The complaint was lodged on the morning of May 6 by Sah Alom Ali, a resident of Mukalmuwa, Nalbari, who owns a shop located at 5 No. Gali, Beltola. According to the FIR, unidentified individuals broke the lock on the shop's main entrance during the night and stole four mobile phones along with an undisclosed amount of cash. The complainant also alerted authorities via the 112 Emergency Police Helpline, enabling the police to initiate immediate investigation.

Speaking to Gplus, an official from the Basistha Police Station said, “we received a complaint today morning about a burglary at a shop at 5 no. Gali.  Based on credible intelligence and local surveillance, four suspects were tracked down and detained in the Khanapara area within 12 hours of the complaint being filed. The accused have been identified as Ratul Ali (26), Sah Alom (19), Purna Kalita alias Juice (20) and Bikram Dhar (23). Upon interrogation we found that all the accused are habitual offenders with prior criminal backgrounds. The recovered items have been handed over to the  authorities concerned for further legal procedures. “
