Rs 400 Cr Worth of Fruits and Vegetables Sold in Assam During COVID-19 Pandemic

GUWAHATI: Fruits and vegetables worth Rs 400 crore have been sold in the Assam during the pandemic period. 

Agriculture Minister Atul Bora said that around 5,000 youths have been directly involved through district administrations to sell these products.

Further, the minister said that various agricultural products including pumpkin were sent abroad recently and that the youths who have returned to Assam will get employment opportunities in the agri sector. 

Bora added further that over 5 lakh agriculture families have been affected due to floods so far in Assam and assessment of flood damages is being done.
