Rs 36 Crore Distributed To 22,601 Meritorious Assam HSLC Students

 

GUWAHATI: As part of the Anundoram Borooah Award, the Assam Government on Wednesday, September 7, distributed Rs 16,000 to each student who secured more than 75 percent in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations 2022.

A total Rs 36 crore were transferred to the bank accounts of 22,601 meritorious students; and students from all around Assam are expected to get the amount debited to their accounts by today, Thursday, September 8.

Anundoram Borooah Award is an ambitious scheme of the Assam Government to inspire students to strive for academic excellence.

The number of students to receive the award has increased from 12,756 back in 2005 when the award was introduced to 22,601 this year.
