Riyan went past the 500-run mark in the season for the first time in his IPL career amassing 531 runs in 13 matches. This put him in the 4th spot in the list of the highest run-getters this year and also within striking distance of the IPL 2024 Orange Cap.

While Guwahati applauded Riyan’s feat, the thousands of RR supporters had to return home disappointed as the match result did not go the way they would have wanted.

Wednesday’s defeat was RR’s fourth on the trot although the team has already made it to the playoffs after Lucknow Super Giants lost to Delhi Capitals on May 14
