GUWAHATI : Several organisations and political parties in Assam were protesting against Centre's decision to hike prices of fuel. This issue engulfed after a constant price hike in petrol and diesel over a week.
The price of petrol began at Rs 76.87 on May 14 and saw an upward trend throughout the week.
On Sunday, the petrol price saw a rise of 34 paise from Saturday while before that the price rose by 31 paise, 30 paise, 23 paise, 16 paise and 14 paise each day.
Senior Congress members including Ripun Bora, Bobbeeta Sharma took out a protest rally from Rajiv Bhavan, Guwahati On Tuesday against the Centre's constant hike in fuel price.
