Rich Culture of Assam showcased at New Delhi through Assam Tableau

GUWAHATI: Assam tableau “Manchester of the East – Sualkuchi" shined at the 70th Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.

With the tableau passing through the saluting dais, Bhupen Hazarika's song ‘Jai Jai Ram Rahim’ was played in the background.

The Assam tableau displayed the states rich cultural heritage along with displayed Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Sualkuchi in the year 1946 – which is often referred to as the ‘Manchester of the East’.
