GUWAHATI: Meghali Das, a prominent designer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist from Assam, passed away on March 7 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

The news has sent shockwaves through the community, as Meghali was not only recognized for her professional achievements but also for her contributions as a social worker.

Meghali Das was a key figure in the world of fashion and entrepreneurship. She served as a partner at Handloom Hues Guwahati and held the position of Secretary at Northeast India Fashion & Design Council-FNDC.
Additionally, Meghali made her mark as an entrepreneur and business developer with the widely recognized brand Avon.
Advocate General, Assam and Joint Secretary of BCCI, Devajit Lon Saikia took to Facebook to post about the news, “Deeply shocked and saddened for such an early demise of a successful entrepreneur, accomplished designer and an eminent social worker Meghali Das. One of the most graceful and dignified personality, I ever met. My heartfelt condolences to her bereaved family, especial Swapan Da, friends and well wishers. Om Shanti”.
