GUWAHATI: Arun Das, the Assamese singer celebrated for his melodies and timeless love songs, breathed his last on December 3 after a prolonged battle with illness.
The artist reportedly breathed his last around 4:45 AM early yesterday morning.
Arun Das has left an indelible mark with his enchanting voice, gracing numerous popular songs such as 'Tumi Janu Jana Sun,' 'Kiman Morom Tumale,' 'Xasisilu Gopone Gopone,' and many more.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X to put out, “I am very sad to hear the news of the passing away of the beloved singer Arun Das, emptying the Assamese music world. I pray to God for the eternal peace of the departed soul of the beloved artist who has blessed Assamese music by singing many evergreen and heart-wrenching songs. My deepest condolences to the family and admirers at this time of grief Aum Shanti.”
