GUWAHATI: In the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections the Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration has ordered to remove the political hoardings, banners, posters, etc. from the polling areas.

This directive has been issued as per a notification on March 22.

Under, the Additional Election Commissioner of Kamrup Metropolitan District and Nodal Officer of Code Of Conduct Cell, Tridip Kumar Konwar, 775 hoardings, 804 posters have been removed from Kamrup (Metro) and 69 posters have been painted white.
It is to be noted that on May 7 polling will be held in the Kamrup Metropolitan district for Lok Sabha elections 2024.
