Recovered COVID-19 Patients to Not Undergo Test on Arrival in Assam

GUWAHATI: The Health and Family Welfare Department of Assam, on September 29, issued new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for passengers travelling to the state.


As per the latest guidelines, people who had tested positive for COVID-19 and subsequently tested negative need not undergo another COVID-19 test upon arrival in Assam. 


The guidelines are applicable to all travellers by air, road, and railways. 


Further, COVID-19 recovered persons shall not undergo quarantine/isolation upon arrival. 


“In partial modification of Standard Operating Procedures earlier issued by Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam in respect of persons arriving in Assam, it is hereby decided that any person who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 and subsequently tested negative, need not undergo Rapid Antigen/ RT-PCR testing on arrival in Assam by air/ road/ railways, and isolation/ quarantine, subject to production of satisfactory test result document,” states the order.
