The state of Assam has a unique advantage of being a strategic geographic location with a strong connectivity network, making it an ideal destination for doing business with the ASEAN countries.
In view of this, the maiden Global Investors Summit, 2018 aims to project Assam as India's expressway to the South-East Asian nations. Advantage Assam will be the largest ever investment promotion and facilitation initiative by the Government of Assam. Besides, the summit will showcase the opportunities offered by the state in terms of export oriented manufacturing and services to ASEAN and BBN countries. The objective of the Summit is to position Assam as India's Expressway to ASEAN.
Corporate leaders, such as Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani, Dilip Sanghvi, Naresh Trehan, will be a part of over 4,800 delegates from across the world in forst ever global investors summit in Assam.
The event has been organised with a total expenditure of Rs 30 crore. The event will witness participation of business leaders and ministers from as many as 20 nations.
‘Advantage Assam’ will be the largest ever investment promotion and facilitation initiative by the state government and it will showcase the opportunities offered by the state in terms of export-oriented manufacturing and services to ASEAN and other countries.
Other major industrial key players to take part in the event are - Dabur’s Anand Burman, Harshavardhan Neotia from Ambuja Neotia Cements, Amar Abrol from Air Asia India, Welspun Group’s Balakrishan Goenka, Subhash Chandra of Essel Group, Emami’s Sushil Goenka, Rashesh Shah of Edelweiss and Sanjiv Puri from ITC.
