GUWAHATI: Assam State BJP president Ranjeet Dass was criticized as he conducted a press conference without getting his COVID-19 sample test results.
Earlier, Dass and his family gave swab samples after four of his escorts tested COVID-19 positive.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, when asked about the incident, said that any person who gives his swab for tests must stay in isolation till the results are out.

"It is applicable to all. Even if he or she is my family member, he or she is wrong... It is a criminal offence. What is wrong is wrong, whosoever does it," said Himanta.
"If my wife or my son have done a swab test and then comes out for a conference, it’s an offence," he added.
However, later Sarma said that Dass and his family members had tested negative.
