Rajasthan Royals set to Play 3 IPL Matches in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: In a good news for cricket enthusiasts, Guwahati is set to host three Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in its 2020 edition.

According to reports, Committee of Administrators (CoA) has approved the request of Rajasthan Royals to BCCI to allow them to play their home matches in Guwahati.

The approval was placed and accepted in the IPL governing council, chaired by former Indian batsman Brijesh Patel at the BCCI headquaters.

The 13th season of IPL is set to begin from March 29, 2020.

Earlier, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said at the Dwijing festival, “I had a brief discussion with Jay Shah, secretary of the BCCI and he assured me that three IPL matches are definitely going to take place in Guwahati.”

Earlier in November 2019, Rajasthan Royals’ co-owner Manoj Bedale said that his team will play at least two matches at the Barsapara cricket stadium.

It is to be mentioned that the T20 between India Vs Sri Lanka which was scheduled to be played on January 5 was abandoned due to the rain, leaving thousands of cricket lovers disappointed.
