GUWAHATI: Leaving aside all speculations 25-year-old Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel on Tuesday joined the Congress at a public meeting held in Adalaj village, Gandhinagar.
Hardik Patel joined the Congress party in the presence of Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
Speaking to supporters Hardik said, "People ask me why I chose the Congress and Rahul Gandhi. I chose Rahul Gandhi because he is honest. He does not believe in working like a dictator."
Later in a tweet Hardik Patel stated, "Till now I was part of a Social Movement, fighting on the path of truth and honesty. Today i joined the ideologies of Gandhiji, Sardar Patel and Pandit Nehru by joining the Congress party in presence of Shri @RahulGandhi."
