Rahul Gandhi, Himanta Biswa and Gaurav Gogoi in a triangular war of words in twitter

GUWAHATI: It all started with a tweet from Rahul Gandhi's official handle on 25th January. In his tweet, the Congress President raised concern about the growing violence in Northeast India. This tweet from Rahul’s handle led to a triangular war of words between Rahul Gandhi, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Gaurav Gogoi that lasted for three days.

"I am disturbed by the growing violence & unrest in the N East where religion & ethnicity are being used as weapons by the BJP to polarise the region for political gain. This type of politics, that pitches brother against brother & fans hatred, is evil & must be stopped," read the tweet by Rahul Gandhi.

Assam Finance Minister and NEDA (North East Democratic Alliance) convenor Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma who has been vocal about Congress's misrule countered Rahul Gandhi's tweet, “Dear @RahulGandhi~Perplexed by your anxiety. Are you aware how @INCIndia has strangulated NE for decades? Don't give value judgements. We're talking to people to address genuine concerns. Some fake protestors, with bare or no support, are withering away. Rest assured, NE is safe!"

This tweet by Himanta brought the twitter handle of Gaurav Gogoi, Kaliabor MP and son of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi into the scene. The junior who charged Himanta for not speaking anything during his tenure as minister in the Congress state government and instead started a private news channel.

Himanta took a jibe at the Congress party and called it a party of master and slaves.

"Come on @GauravGogoiAsm! You must be kidding - being powerful in @INCIndia, a party of Master & Slaves, is such a misnomer. Only one family is powerful~neither you nor me.

By the way, why you and your father always behind my wife’s TV channel? Has she harmed you in any way?”
