GUWAHATI: Assam girl Puja Basumatary wins gold in 57 kg Judo in the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games 2020 on January 12.
It is to be mentioned that Puja is the first from Assam to bag a gold medal in the Khelo India Youth Games.
She defeated her Uttarakhand opponent by 1-0 in the final held at the SAI Centre in Paltan Bazar, Guwahati.
Assam, the host State, had earlier won a silver and two bronze medals, all three going to the kitty of promising gymnast Upasa Talukdar.
