GUWAHATI: An empowered officer of the Competent Authority in Kolkata issued a freezing order on October 21 following a thorough investigation into assets linked to accused Rantu Sonowal. The investigation was a part of the ongoing Sarupathar PS Case, which revealed that properties valued at ₹1.33 crore had been acquired within six years prior to Sonowal’s arrest.
