This memorial will serve a tribute to the martyr of the Assam Agitation, as revealed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Built with a financial outlay of ₹100 crore, the infrastructure honours the sacrifices of men and women who laid down their lives during the historic movement. It consists of a 225-foot tower, and will feature a meditation hall, a gallery showing photographs from the Assam Agitation, and an ethnic cuisine outlet.
Planned additions include a state-of-the-art light and sound installation and an auditorium, with 90% of the construction claimed as complete.
Sarma has directed the Public Works Department (Building) to finish the remaining work promptly. Accompanying him were Minister for Assam Accord Implementation Atul Bora, Secretary Neera Daulagupu, and Special Secretary Raj Chakrabarty.
