President speaks of developing Assam Tourism

President Ram Nath Kovind during his maiden visit to Northeast, took part in a civic reception at Gauhati University on Monday. During the event, he emphasized on the importance of the tourism sector in the socio-economic development of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Kovind said that Assam has a great scope to develop its tourism sector. Assam has a lot of tourism potential and is already a part of the tourism map. Places like the Kaziranga and Manas National Park are already transforming into tourist hubs of the state.

Pointing out the geographical advantage of the state, Kovind said that the state can make big names globally if the resources are utilized well. The Global Investors Summit to be held in February will further promote investment opportunities across the state.
